In 2005, Murph Water & Environmental Services was started by Burke Murph to provide property assessment and management services to Georgia property owners. As with most successful businesses, the company expanded into Georgia Water & Environmental Services, LLC. (GWES) in 2010. GWES is a privately owned engineering and consulting business and is pre-qualified with Georgia Department of Transportation for erosion and sedimentation control design and ecology.
Burke Murph is a registered professional engineer and has an educational background in Chemical Engineering with an Environmental Specialization as well as a Masters of Business Administration. Burke’s eleven years of experience in the environmental infrastructure field has included water and wastewater treatment, stormwater master planning and design, solid waste management design, erosion and sedimentation control design, site development, water and wastewater system design, biosolids management, and pond consultation, design, and management.
In 2014, Matt Taylor was selected as a Managing Partner for GWES as business opportunities expanded throughout Georgia. Matt has over 25 years of experience in the construction and engineering fields, including work as a general contractor, city engineer, wastewater treatment plant operator, and engineering consultant. His experience includes water, wastewater, reclaimed water design and master planning projects, as well as extensive project and construction management. He is a registered professional engineer in several states and holds master’s degrees in Business Administration and Civil Engineering. In addition, he is a talented public participation professional who can effectively manage sensitive regulatory issues, build consensus among project stakeholders, and implement practical solutions for increased quality and economy.
Casey has more than ten years of experience working as an environmental scientist in the Middle Georgia area. He has experience in wetland delineations, regulatory permit preparation, Georgia stream buffer applications, landfill monitoring, groundwater evaluations, fish sampling, habitat assessments, macroinvertebrate collections, and Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments. He also has experience working with developers in regards to environmental constraints, and has performed numerous Threatened and Endangered Species Surveys. In addition to working with underground storage tanks, Casey has performed numerous Corrective Action Plan (CAP)-A’s, groundwater monitoring only plans, and assisted with several remediation systems throughout much of Georgia, and he has completed numerous groundwater well installations. He has also participated in several national conferences presenting research involving surface water monitoring throughout Middle Georgia.
Senior Designer/GIS Specialist
Mr. Griffore earned his designer certification from the Middle Georgia Technical Institute in 1994 and has over 20 years of CAD/drafting and mapping experience using both CAD and GIS software. Michael’s experience includes new water and wastewater treatment plant designs, existing water and wastewater treatment plant upgrades, linear water transmission line designs, linear sanitary sewer (gravity and force) main designs, stormwater system upgrades and improvements, and master planning.
